Practice Areas: Social Security Disability

Britton is the attorney at Willis Spangler Starling who handles the Social Security Disability claims. Her interest in practicing Social Security law began when she was successful in helping her uncle receive Social Security benefits. She’s now been practicing in this area for over fourteen years. Britton is a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimant’s Representatives and a past chair of the Social Security Disability committee of the Columbus Bar Association. The most fulfilling part of her job is helping people be able to meet their basic needs of income and medical care by helping them get approved for benefits.

One thing Britton wishes all clients understood is that the Social Security Administration is a large governmental entity with lots of rules, written and unwritten. It takes many years of practice to gain a firm grasp on what they are looking for in order to approve someone for benefits. And the process is long and confusing.

Britton is originally from Huntington, West Virginia and attended Marshall University. She loves spending time with her family going to see live performances together, especially musical theatre.
